  • Total Time: 25 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings 1x

Ingredients

Scale

For the Chicken:

  • 1 ½ lbs boneless, skinless chicken thighs or breasts, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil

For the Sauce:

  • ¼ cup honey
  • 3 tablespoons sriracha sauce (adjust to taste)
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon grated ginger
  • 1 teaspoon cornstarch + 1 tablespoon water (slurry)

For Garnish:

  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds
  • 2 green onions, sliced

Instructions

  • Prepare the Chicken: Season chicken with salt and pepper. Toss in cornstarch until evenly coated.
  • Cook the Chicken: Heat oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add chicken and cook for 5-7 minutes until golden brown and cooked through. Remove from the skillet and set aside.
  • Make the Sauce: In the same skillet, add garlic and ginger, cooking for 30 seconds until fragrant. Stir in honey, sriracha, soy sauce, rice vinegar, and sesame oil. Bring to a simmer.
  • Thicken the Sauce: Mix cornstarch with water to make a slurry, then add it to the sauce. Stir and cook until the sauce thickens (about 1-2 minutes).
  • Combine & Serve: Return the chicken to the skillet and toss to coat in the sauce. Cook for another minute.
  • Garnish & Serve: Sprinkle with sesame seeds and green onions. Serve hot over rice or noodles.

Notes

  • Adjust the sriracha to control spiciness.
  • For extra crunch, use chicken tenders instead of bite-sized pieces.
  • Can be stored in the fridge for up to 4 days and reheated on the stovetop or microwave.
