Ingredients
Scale
For the Chicken:
- 1 ½ lbs boneless, skinless chicken thighs or breasts, cut into bite-sized pieces
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
- 2 tablespoons cornstarch
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
For the Sauce:
- ¼ cup honey
- 3 tablespoons sriracha sauce (adjust to taste)
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon grated ginger
- 1 teaspoon cornstarch + 1 tablespoon water (slurry)
For Garnish:
- 1 tablespoon sesame seeds
- 2 green onions, sliced
Instructions
- Prepare the Chicken: Season chicken with salt and pepper. Toss in cornstarch until evenly coated.
- Cook the Chicken: Heat oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add chicken and cook for 5-7 minutes until golden brown and cooked through. Remove from the skillet and set aside.
- Make the Sauce: In the same skillet, add garlic and ginger, cooking for 30 seconds until fragrant. Stir in honey, sriracha, soy sauce, rice vinegar, and sesame oil. Bring to a simmer.
- Thicken the Sauce: Mix cornstarch with water to make a slurry, then add it to the sauce. Stir and cook until the sauce thickens (about 1-2 minutes).
- Combine & Serve: Return the chicken to the skillet and toss to coat in the sauce. Cook for another minute.
- Garnish & Serve: Sprinkle with sesame seeds and green onions. Serve hot over rice or noodles.
Notes
- Adjust the sriracha to control spiciness.
- For extra crunch, use chicken tenders instead of bite-sized pieces.
- Can be stored in the fridge for up to 4 days and reheated on the stovetop or microwave.
